New software projects
A description of an application or internal system you are considering, including the process it should support.
Contacts
If you are planning an IT project, reviewing an existing system, or simply trying to work out whether an idea is technically sensible, you are welcome to write to BEN’S PRO. A short written description of the situation is enough to start a useful conversation.

A description of an application or internal system you are considering, including the process it should support.
A request to assess an application, codebase or infrastructure setup and report on its condition.
Situations where two or more systems need to exchange data reliably.
Migration, environment automation, deployment pipelines or cost and reliability concerns.
Ongoing care for software already running in production.
Architecture, security practice, testing strategy or feasibility questions relating to your systems.
Communication process
The process is deliberately simple and entirely written until both sides agree there is something worth discussing in more depth.
Send an email covering what the system does or should do, what is not working, any deadlines, and any technical constraints you already know about.
We reply with clarifying questions. This step matters: it prevents a proposal built on assumptions.
Once the picture is clear, we describe how we would approach the work, what we would examine first, and where the main uncertainties lie.
Scope, sequencing, effort and commercial terms are put in writing for your review before any work is scheduled.
The first phase is always understanding the existing system in detail, followed by incremental delivery with regular written updates.

Enquiries are usually answered within one to two business days, Monday to Friday. Messages that arrive at weekends or during public holidays are read on the next working day. Detailed questions about an existing system may take longer, because we prefer to read the relevant material before replying. This is a description of normal practice rather than a guaranteed service level; a formal response commitment can be agreed as part of a support arrangement.
Email is a convenient channel but not a confidential one. Please do not send passwords, access keys, production credentials, personal data about your customers or employees, or other sensitive material in an initial message. Describe the situation in general terms first; if the discussion requires sensitive information, we will agree a more suitable method of transferring it. Information you send by email is used only to respond to your enquiry and to assess the possible work.
